Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the intentional focus of one’s attention on the emotions, thoughts and sensations occurring in the present moment. This intentional focus is done without judgement and with an acceptance of ‘what is’.

Mindfulness practice is increasingly used in psychology and health care settings to alleviate a variety of physical and emotional conditions, including OCD, Anxiety, and in the prevention of relapse in Depression. Mindfulness has gained worldwide popularity as an effective way to cope with emotions. It is an essential element of Buddhist practice and there is a growing evidence base around it’s efficacy in emotional health care practices. It is also being introduced in schools with good outcomes.
